
The Government of Guatemala confirmed the death of journalist Cristian Martínez Trejo, who was shot on April 27 in the capital of the Central American country and had been hospitalized since then. The Minister of the Interior, Francisco Jiménez, informed at a press conference that they are investigating the "attack".
Martínez Trejo had been shot while in the street and was taken immediately to a medical center for attention. Despite the efforts of the doctors, he did not recover from his injuries and passed away.
